The Practice of Engineering

In accordance with Kansas statutes, the practice of engineering is regulated by the state Board of Technical Professions (BOTP). Members of the BOTP are appointed by the Governor to establish prerequisite requirements, evaluate qualifications, and administer licensing for all engineers practicing in the state. The Kansas licensing act declares that the purpose is:

"...to establish and maintain a high standard of
integrity, skills and practice in the technical professions and to
safeguard the life, health, property and welfare of the public..."

In keeping with the stated purpose of the licensing act, the information outlined to your left is intended to strengthen and advance the relationship between consulting engineers, their clients, governmental agencies, and the public.
